Although there are several treatments for type 1 Gaucher disease that treat the many visceral symptoms of the disease, there is no viable approved treatment that can cross the blood-brain-barrier to treat the neurological symptoms of types 2 and 3 Gaucher disease. Because of that, the Gaucher community suffers tragic loss of loved ones. While we applaud the successes of available treatments, we mourn the loss of our beautiful angels who have lose their lives to Gaucher disease. May their memory and spirit live on in our hearts forever.
