Although there are several treatments for type 1 Gaucher disease that treat the many visceral symptoms of Gaucher disease, there is no viable approved treatment that can cross the blood-brain-barrier to treat the neurological symptoms of types 2 and 3 Gaucher disease. Because of that, the Gaucher community suffers tragic loss of loved ones. We encourage you to share your stories of your loved ones and honor their memory on our website. Sharing your story will help us to raise awareness of the need for more funding and research to help find a treatment that can cross the blood-brain-barrier. We mourn the loss of our beautiful angels who lost their lives to Gaucher disease. May their memory and spirit live on in our hearts forever.
